Renting children’s clothes just got easier

At Borro, our goal has always been to make sustainable choices easier for families, in fact everything we do starts with one simple question. How can we make sustainable choices more accessible, affordable, and genuinely practical?
We know that when you are dressing growing children, convenience, flexibility and affordability matter just as much as sustainability. Which is exactly why we're so very excited to share a new pilot that brings children’s clothing rental even closer to the way you already shop online.

A simpler way to dress growing children
For those that don’t know us, Borro is a children’s clothing rental platform designed to help families rent baby and kids’ clothes instead of buying new every time their child sizes up. By keeping high quality children’s clothing in circulation for longer, we help reduce waste while giving parents access to beautiful, well made pieces, right when they need them.
Renting children’s clothes means fewer outgrown outfits sitting in drawers, less time spent donating or reselling for us parents, and a more affordable way to dress our little ones as they grow. For many families, it is also an easy step towards more sustainable kids fashion without adding extra effort too!
Rent childrenswear direct from your favourite brands
So what has changed? Until now, rental has often sat separately from traditional online shopping, requiring parents to make a conscious switch between platforms. With this new pilot however, we are beginning to change that by bringing rental closer to where families already browse and buy.
We’re thrilled to announce that we are introducing rental directly into brand’s online stores, allowing parents to make the choice whether they want to add a brand new, or pre-loved item to their basket. By doing this, rental becomes part of the natural shopping journey, sitting alongside buying, as an alternate simple and considered choice.
The pilot launches with three of our favourite children’s brands already available on Borro. Ducky Zebra, Wildgreen and Playtime Prints will now offer selected items to rent directly through their own websites, making it easier than ever for families to choose what works best for them.

What this means for parents
This pilot gives families more choice when shopping for children’s clothes online. Parents can still buy when it makes sense, but they can also rent items they know may only be worn for a short time.
Whether it is a special outfit, a seasonal layer, or everyday clothing your child may quickly grow out of, renting kids clothes becomes a visible and practical option without needing to leave the brand website.
Our aim is to make children’s clothing rental feel like a normal, helpful choice rather than an alternative that takes extra planning.
Supporting sustainable children’s fashion
For the brands taking part, the pilot helps extend the life of their garments and supports a more circular approach to children’s fashion. Well-made clothes are able to stay in use for longer, reaching more families rather than being worn briefly and then set aside. This not only reduces waste, but also allows quality pieces to be appreciated as they were intended.
Whereas for the team here at Borro, this pilot represents another step towards making sustainable children’s clothing easier to access and simpler to choose. By meeting families where they already shop, we can support more parents in reducing waste while continuing to dress their children in clothes that feel thoughtful, practical and beautiful.

What happens next
Over the coming months, we will be learning more about how families interact with rental at checkout and how this model can best support busy parents. As always, our approach is guided by listening to families and improving based on real experiences, so we’d also love to hear your feedback too!
If successful, this pilot opens the door to expanding rental across more children’s brands and making renting kids clothes online an even more seamless part of everyday shopping.
We honestly are so excited to share updates as we progress throughout the pilot, particularly on how we’re continuing to make children’s clothing rental in the UK simpler, more accessible, and most important of all, more parent friendly.
