Stains Happen. And That’s Totally Fine.

Parenting. It's beautiful, it's chaotic, and it's all-consuming. Which is exactly why we don't believe you should ever have to worry about a sleepsuit getting ruined by a rogue banana. Or sweet potato. Or a poonami.
Because let's be honest - kids are mess magnets. And if you've ever tried to keep a baby clean for more than five minutes, you know it’s a losing game. Even with long sleeved bibs, I remember that breakfast always ruined at last one outfit (I just kept them in their PJs).
At Borro, we get it. We've been there. That's why we never charge for stains. Ever. It's just part of the deal - we handle the mess, so you don't have to.
So, what happens to the stained stuff?
We actually want your stained sleepsuits back. Really. Unlike when a friend gives you a bag of hand-me-downs and says "No worries if it gets trashed" - they definitely don't want to deal with a returned bag full of stained sleepsuits, but we do! Please send them back, tomato stains and all. In fact you don't even have to wash them before you return them.
Here’s why:
We're really good at stain removal. It's kind of our thing. Whether it's blueberry explosions or mystery milk stains, we've got the tools and tricks to bring those outfits back to life (or responsibly recycle them if we can't).
Our go-to stain removal routine (aka: what to do if really want to give it a go at home)
-
Rinse ASAP
Get the item under cold water as soon as you can. Cold water helps stop the stain from setting - warm or hot water can actually lock it in. -
Use a gentle but powerful stain remover
We love Ecover – it’s tough on stains but kinder to little ones' skin (and the planet). -
Let it sit, then wash long
Once the remover's on, give it time to work. Then pop it in the wash on a long cycle with enough detergent to do the heavy lifting. -
Try oxygen bleach for brightening
Oxygen bleach (not the chlorine kind) is an eco-friendly miracle worker for whites. It’s safe, and it gets the job done. -
Sunlight is your secret weapon
Dry clothes in the sunshine - UV rays naturally bleach out residual stains. If you haven't already, do try this at home. I was very dubious when my mum told me about this, but it really works, especially for those poo stains!
But here's the thing: you don't have to do any of this.
Because with Borro, you browse, you rent, and you return - no stress. No set subscription. No minimum order. No penalties for stains, muck or mishaps.
We’re here to make renting high quality children’s clothes better. For your bank balance. For the planet. For your bundles of joy. And for your sanity’s sake.
If only everything else in parenting could be that simple!
