Borro is at the forefront of the disruptive rental industry, creating an essential solution to the problem of fast-growing kids by allowing busy parents to rent their baby and kids’ clothes. Parents can access beautiful organic clothes with the price and convenience of fast fashion but without the cost to the planet. It’s a win-win!

We are looking for a passionate Marketing Manager to join us part-time on our journey as a key part of our startup team.

 

The Role

This is an exciting and creative role where you will work closely with the CMO and founder to implement and evolve the marketing strategy to grow Borro. You will align your marketing efforts to meet business targets and enjoy seeing more and more parents renting their kids clothes! Your work will focus on the following areas:

Organic social media

  • Social Media Strategy: Help shape and develop an organic social media strategy based on data and experimentation across appropriate channels such as Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
  • Content Planning and Distribution: Create and manage the marketing calendar filled with engaging content that resonate with our audience and oversee the creation and distribution of this content (working with a content creator).
  • Community Engagement: Build and nurture an online community through active engagement and interaction.
  • Influencer Management: Build long-term relationships with influencers and help them create great content.
  • Trending moments: Look for opportunities to jump on current trends to boost our social media presence.

Paid social

  • Paid Ads Management: Create and implement Meta ads alongside the organic strategy to drive brand awareness.
  • Data and Analytics: Monitor ads doing less of what’s not working, and more of what is, to ensure excellent ROI and lower CAC.

Email Marketing

  • Automated flows: Set up automated flows in Klaviyo designed to upsell to existing customers and re-engage churned subscribers.
  • Campaign management: Plan, write, schedule, and analyze regular email campaigns to convert email subscribers into paying customers.
  • Segmentation: Ensure email campaigns are properly segmented and personalized to deliver the most value to our subscribers.

Anything else!

As a startup we are a small team and often need to wear many hats, so you may be asked to attend events, write press releases, use Google ads, or Tiktok ads for example, depending on the business need.

 

Skills required

  • Customer-first approach: You always start with the customer and develop a real insight into their pain points, jobs to be done etc, learning from customer interviews and interactions how we can best deliver value to them.
  • Growth mindset: You are willing to learn, try new things and have a positive can-do attitude.
  • Passion: A passion for sustainability, and marketing. You love analysing why certain marketing works and others doesn’t.
  • Creativity: You turn creative ideas into action – thinking outside the box to try new ideas and experiment.
  • Dedication: Sometimes working at a startup is challenging, you should have grit and perseverance.

 

Essential Experience

  • Marketing: At least 3-5 years of experience in a marketing role/s.
  • Meta Ads: You will have previous experience of using Meta ads to grow a brand, with demonstrable results.
  • Organic Social: You will have experience in building and implementing social media content across Facebook and Instagram, plus experience of creating content in a platform like Canva.
  • Email Marketing: You will have used Klaviyo flows or similar and are able to build and deliver email campaigns to effect.
  • Communication Skills: You have excellent written English and good copywriting skills
  • Organisation Skills: You are excellent at managing your own workload and prioritising tasks appropriately.

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a startup environment, especially working in a small team and/or with small budgets.
  • Experience with TikTok ads and Google search ads
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant course in Marketing, Fashion, or similar subjects.

About Borro

This is an amazing opportunity to be instrumental in growing a start-up into a scale-up, backed by impact investors. You’ll be a key member of the startup team, working closely with the founder and experienced CMO, so your work will have a direct impact on the business’s growth. You’ll have the chance to show off your talents in a fast-paced environment where your work will align with your personal values. We’re a friendly team which includes the founder, fractional CMO, and three freelancers working on operations and social media. Everyone works remotely but our HQ is in Stratford-Upon-Avon.
